Ravenswood embraces Halloween with haunting yard decoration competition

RAVENSWOOD — Houses throughout downtown Ravenswood are draped in cobwebs and covered with zombies for Halloween. Five of them were awarded by city officials Tuesday for its annual Halloween decorations contest.
Each house was given a plank from the city of Ravenswood with the category it won. Here are the winners.
181 Joe Short Drive won the Creepily Creative category
101 Virginia Street won the Super's Spooky Choice category
215 Wilson Street won the Spinetingly Scary category
605 Cherry Street won the Gruesomely Ghoulish category
602 Fleming Street won the Mayor's Monstrous Choice category
