BOPARC Breaks Ground for a New 2 Mile Trail

From the Board of Parks and Recreation:

Just shy of one year ago, we walked this area to come up with our vision for this new trail located within Ravenswood's newest park, the Major Kevin Clegg Trail System. We acquired this property through a 50 year lease with the Jackson County Board of Education as many will recall. We had a touching ribbon cutting ceremony in honor of Kevin just a few short years ago.

So today, we broke ground on this 4 feet wide, 2 miles trail, which will be free of obstructions. It'll be easily walkable and will be suitable for young bikers in grade school. In other words, it'll be doable without frustration so our youngsters can hone their skills... but there's a bonus! It'll create a life long passion for this sport!

This is what happens when we work together. Thank you to the Jackson County BOE, Steort Construction and the Jackson County Jackals for working with BOPARC and the City of Ravenswood. This improves the lives of so many in our area.
