How do I pay my bill?

In person you may come to The Municipal Building at 1 Wall Street in Ravenswood M-F 8-4.  Payments are also accepted in the night deposit box in the drive through.  Credit card payments are accepted over the phone.  There is a $3 fee for card transactions.  Payments may be mailed to the address at the bottom of this page.

I need something notarized. Can you help?

We notarize documents in person free of charge.  You will need a valid ID.

What does my bill include?

Your bill includes water, sewer, trash, utility taxes and municipal fees (fire and police protection, street fees and recreation fee).

When is my bill due?

Monthly on the 20th.

When is City Hall open?

City Hall is open M-F 8am - 4pm.  The City is closed for all government holidays.

How do I report a street light out?

Street lights maintained by Appalachian Power are typically on a wooden pole and have a horizontal metal or plastic tag on the pole with three numbers, a letter, and three numbers written on it. 

If an Appalachian Power street light needs to be repaired, you will need the following information before contacting the company:

The nearest street address to the light
The numbers/letter combination listed on the Appalachian Power tag on the pole
The problem with the light (flickering, burned out, missing lens, etc.)

To report an inoperable Appalachian Power street light, call the 24-hour Appalachian Power Consumer Solutions Center hotline at 800-982-4237 or visit the Appalachian Power website at https://www.appalachianpower.com/outages/problem/streetlight.

If If a city-owned light needs to be repaired, contact the Maintenance Supervisor, Bob Huffman, at 304-532-8211.

Museum Donations

Does the Great Bend Museum accept donations?

Yes, we accept donations! We’re looking for objects with historic significance to the county and region. If you think you have something you’d like to donate, email us a description (with history) and pictures. The Board of Culture and History makes acquisition decisions at their monthly meeting. Items left at the museum anonymously (aka doorstop donations or abandoned property) are subject to disposal at our discretion. Under federal law, we do not provide object appraisals.

When are you open?

We are open Tuesday through Saturday 12-4pm.  Closed on Federal and State Holidays.

How do I have an object appraised at the Great Bend Museum?

Under federal law, we do not provide object appraisals.

Do you need volunteers?

Absolutely!  Come volunteer with us.  You can participate in such things as:

  • Inventorying Collection
  • Photographing Collection
  • Cleaning and moving, as needed
  • Talking with visitors and giving tours
  • Research Assistance

How do I schedule a pick up for oversized items?

Call City Hall at 304-273-2621.  Prices will vary.

Is there a deposit for residential services like water and sewer?

Yes.  The total deposit is $75.  Cash, check or money order only.  ID is required.
